Emergencies and the basics
Do you offer 24/7 emergency plumbing?
Yes. Master's Plumbing answers the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. Call 862-666-2155 and a licensed plumber will be dispatched to your home anywhere in our North Jersey service area.
How quickly should I call for a burst pipe?
Immediately. First shut off the main water valve, usually in the basement on the front wall near the water meter. Then call us. Every minute water runs adds to the damage, and we can walk you through the shutoff on the phone if you cannot find it.
What should I do if my sewer backs up?
Stop using all water in the house: no flushing, no showers, no laundry. Keep people and pets away from the water. Do not pour chemical drain cleaner into a backed-up line. Call us. We will clear the line, then run a camera to find out why it backed up.
Why is my water heater leaking?
Common causes are a failed temperature and pressure relief valve, a loose drain valve, corroded inlet fittings, or a tank that has rusted through. Leaks from fittings and valves are repairable. A leaking tank means replacement. Close the cold-water valve on top of the heater and call us.
Do you repair boilers and furnaces?
Yes. We service gas boilers for hot-water baseboard, radiators and steam, plus gas furnaces and heat pumps. Boiler work is a specialty in the older homes across Essex, Union, Hudson and Bergen counties.
Do you offer emergency AC repair?
Yes. When the AC fails in a heat wave we dispatch around the clock, and we prioritize homes with infants, seniors or anyone with a medical condition.
What areas of New Jersey do you serve?
We are based in Roselle and work throughout Union, Essex, Bergen, Passaic, Hudson and Morris counties, including Linden, Irvington, Clifton, Paterson, Hackensack, Paramus, Fort Lee, Montclair, Bloomfield and the surrounding towns. See our service area page for the full list.
Do you provide upfront pricing?
Yes. After we diagnose the problem you get a firm price for the job before any work starts. We price by the job, never by the hour, so the number does not change if the repair takes longer than expected.
Should I shut my water off before you arrive?
If water is actively leaking, yes. Shut the main valve or the valve closest to the leak. For a leaking water heater, close the cold supply valve on top of the tank. If nothing is leaking, leave the water on so we can test the system when we arrive.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Master's Plumbing holds New Jersey Master Plumber license #36BI01244200 and is insured and bonded.
Scheduling and pricing
How do I schedule service?
Call 862-666-2155 or use the schedule form on this site. For emergencies, always call so we can dispatch right away.
Do you offer financing?
Financing options are available for larger jobs like water heater, boiler, furnace and air conditioning replacement. Ask us for current terms when you request an estimate.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Major credit cards, checks and other approved payment methods. Payment is due when the work is complete unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
Do you offer a warranty on your work?
Yes. We stand behind our workmanship, and lifetime parts warranties are available on select high-efficiency systems. Warranty terms are explained before work begins.
Plumbing
My toilet is overflowing right now. What do I do?
Lift the tank lid and push the flapper down to stop water entering the bowl, then close the shutoff valve behind the toilet. If more than one fixture is backing up, the problem is in the main line. Call us.
Is it worth repiping my house?
If you have galvanized steel supply lines with low pressure, rusty water or repeated leaks, repiping in copper or PEX usually costs less over time than chasing leak after leak. We can repipe in stages if needed.
Do you install tankless water heaters?
Yes. We install and service both tank and tankless units and will tell you honestly whether tankless makes sense for your home's gas supply, venting and hot water demand.
Drains and sewers
Should I use a chemical drain cleaner?
No. They rarely clear a real blockage and can damage older cast iron and galvanized drains. Try a plunger or a hand auger. If that fails, call us for proper cabling or hydro jetting.
How do I know if my sewer line needs to be replaced?
Repeated backups, gurgling drains, sewer odors, soggy or sunken spots in the yard, and camera footage showing cracks, roots or collapsed sections. We always show you the footage before recommending replacement.
Heating and cooling
How often should heating and AC equipment be serviced?
Once a year for each: heating in the fall, cooling in the spring. Heat pumps that run year-round benefit from two visits.
How often should I change my air filter?
Standard one-inch filters every one to three months. Thicker media filters can last longer. Check monthly during peak heating and cooling season.
Should I repair or replace my old furnace or boiler?
Consider age, the cost of the repair compared with a new system, how often it has needed work, and the efficiency gain. We give you both options with real numbers and let you decide.
