Signs your air conditioner needs repair

The two most common failures in a North Jersey summer. A weak capacitor keeps the fan or compressor from starting. A burnt contactor keeps the outdoor unit from running at all. Both are van-stock repairs.
Condenser and blower fan motors
Seized bearings, failed windings and bad ECM modules on the outdoor fan and the indoor blower, replaced with the correct motor for the equipment.
Refrigerant leaks
We find the leak with electronic detection and pressure testing, repair the joint, coil or line set, then weigh in the correct charge. Systems use R-410A or newer refrigerants and we service both. Topping off a leaking system every June is not a repair.
Frozen evaporator coils
Ice is a symptom, not the problem. We find the cause, usually a dirty filter, a failing blower or a low charge, and fix that so the coil stays clear.
Condensate drains and pumps
Clogged drain lines, tripped float switches and failed condensate pumps that flood closets, attics and finished basements.
Thermostats, controls and breakers
Dead thermostats, control boards, transformers and low-voltage wiring. A breaker that keeps tripping is protecting something, and we find out what before resetting it.
